In this sneak peek of tonight’s brand-new episode of WWE Swerved, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins gets hot under the collar after security refuses to let him back into the building.

After successfully defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Dean Ambrose at WWE Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins confidently proclaimed himself the greatest WWE Champion of all time. However, at WWE Battleground, “the best” will finally have to go head-to-head with The Beast.

Rollins has unquestionably proven his mettle since cashing in his Money in the Bank contract during Brock Lesnar’s WrestleMania 31 match against Roman Reigns to capture his first WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Defeating the likes of Reigns, Randy Orton and most recently, The Lunatic Fringe, Dean Ambrose, in an awe-inspiring Ladder Match at Money in the Bank, there is no doubting The Architect’s toughness, or his knack for defending his title by any means necessary.

But amid all his victories and achievements over the past four months, one question has lingered : What would happen when The Beast Incarnate finally returned from his indefinite suspension?

The last time we saw Brock Lesnar, he was not in the greatest of moods. Furious over having his WWE World Heavyweight Championship “stolen” the night at WrestleMania, Lesnar invoked his rematch clause on WWE’s flagship show. However, when Rollins refused an immediate return showdown, the brutal Superstar exploded, attacking commentators and cameramen alike while paying no heed to the please made by his advocate, Paul Heyman. Subsequently, The Authority suspended Lesnar indefinitely for his actions, and he had not been seen on WWE programming since – until now.

The former four-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion seems as focused as he has ever been, still having not been pinned or made to submit since breaking The Undertaker’s Streak at WrestleMania 30. Lesnar will seek to continue that unwavering dominance against The Authority’s chosen one at WWE Battleground.

What will happen when these two Superstars collide? Can Rollins orchestrate the most monumental win of his WWE career by defeating The Beast and truly cement himself as the best that he WWE has to offer? Or will the Mayor of Suplex City conquer Rollins and firmly regain both the championship and his position atop the WWE Universe?

Seth Rollins will try to repossess his WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Dean Ambrose when he faces Ambrose in a dangerous championship Ladder Match at WWE Money in the Bank 2015. The first Superstar on June 14 to scale a ladder and grab WWE’s top prize from high above the ring will be declared the victor.

Though Ambrose and much of the WWE Universe may already consider The Lunatic Fringe the rightful WWE World Heavyweight Champion following the events of WWE Elimination Chamber, Rollins remains the titleholder on record. Ambrose pinned Rollins in a thrilling but controversial match that saw two WWE referees issue contradictory rulings. Ultimately, the official decision was ruled a disqualification win for Ambrose, meaning Rollins retained the title.

Unsatisfied with the outcome, however, the WWE Universe’s most beloved outlaw absconded with the championship.

Ambrose’s needling of The Authority’s poster boy is reminiscent of last year, when The Lunatic Fringe hijacked Rollins’ Money in the Bank briefcase. In that instance, Ambrose stole the coveted briefcase because Rollins and The Authority metaphorically stole the Money in the Bank Ladder Match victory from The Lunatic Fringe in the first place, with Kane assisting Rollins and preventing Ambrose from winning.

Since The Shield’s breakup, Ambrose and Rollins have gone at it hammer and tongs (and ladders) in a variety of dangerous matches, with each conflict raising the stakes and intensity of the one before it. What will happen at Money in the Bank when Ambrose again sets his sights on the Superstar who betrayed him?

Will The Lunatic Fringe finally make Rollins pay the ultimate price, the WWE World Heavyweight Title? Or will Rollins, so obsessed with regaining his title, rise to the challenge of the unpredictable Ambrose? Watch Money in the Bank live on WWE Network Sunday, June 14, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT to find out!

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose

Expect the unexpected when The Lunatic Fringe, Dean Ambrose, challenges WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at Elimination Chamber.

Despite the champion’s wishes, the maniacal, if strategic, Ambrose secured the title opportunity on the May 18 edition of Raw when he interrupted The Authority’s “Architect of a Dream” celebration. Using the element of surprise, Ambrose managed to take Rollins hostage and threatened to deliver a Dirty Deeds to Rollins through cinder blocks unless The Authority made the championship match official. Left with no alternative, Stephanie McMahon conceded.

Ambrose spared Rollins the cinder block treatment that night, but there’s no telling if the same will be true when these former brothers in arms engage on May 31. The WWE Universe vividly remembers their gritty series of matches last year, in the wake of The Shield’s implosion. After Rollins planted Ambrose’s head through cinder blocks in a particularly vicious attack that Ambrose clearly has not forgotten, The Lunatic Fringe went even further off the rails, terrorizing The Authority’s poster child at every turn for weeks on end.

Though Rollins escaped WWE Payback’s Fatal 4-Way Match against Ambrose, Randy Orton and Roman Reigns as WWE World Heavyweight Champion — thanks, in no small measure, to the assistance of Kane and J&J Security — another win over Ambrose is far from guaranteed. To earn his way into the WWE Payback main event in the first place, Ambrose had to defeat the WWE World Heavyweight Champion in a singles, non-title match on Raw.

With an unusual appetite for destruction and plenty of pent-up anger directed Rollins’ way, will Ambrose repeat his success when he challenges for the top prize in all of sports-entertainment at Elimination Chamber? Or can the ever-resourceful and boundlessly athletic “Future of WWE” continue holding onto his title at any cost?

Watch these two former Hounds of Justice tear into each other when Elimination Chamber takes over the award-winning WWE Network on Sunday, May 31, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
